A front-of-house team member at Princes Street Suites in Edinburgh has been given the ‘Receptionist of the Year’ accolade at this year’s Scottish Hotel Awards.

Reception Manager Frances Balsillie, from Edinburgh, has worked at the serviced apartments in the heart of the capital for four years.

She beat four other contenders to the title at the ceremony at Edinburgh’s Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa.

The judges – who highlighted Frances’s ‘excellent’ work – were impressed by her welcoming and pleasant attitude throughout their visit to the apartments.

Frances Balsillie, Reception Manager at Princes Street Suites, said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to have won the national award for Receptionist of the Year – I didn’t expect it at all. I love my job, particularly meeting all of the guests who pass through, so I’m sure my enthusiasm is obvious to see.”

Fiona Mackenzie, General Manager of Princes Street Suites, said: “Frances thoroughly deserves the title of Receptionist of the Year. She’s upbeat, enthusiastic and exceptionally welcoming to all of our guests – and willing to go out of her way to ensure visitors feel relaxed and well looked after. We’re all very proud of her achievement.”
Princes Street Suites is managed to Redefine|BDL Hotels (RBH), the UK’s leading independent hotel management company.

The apartments, which picked up the Edinburgh and Lothians ‘Family Hotel of the Year’ title at the 2017 Scottish Hotel Awards, were transformed in 2016 with a £350,000 refurbishment.
