An East London hotel has taken a run at raising money for its official charity partner – by feeding hungry spectators during the Virgin Money London Marathon.

Holiday Inn Express London – Limehouse, which is situated close to the 21-mile marker on the route of the famous annual race, got the grills fired up to sell burgers in aid of 4Louis.

And the team raised a whopping £1,259.99 for the UK-wide charity, which was launched in 2009 by the family of baby Louis – who was stillborn at 38 weeks gestation – to support those affected by miscarriage, stillbirth or the death of a baby or child.

Syed Hossain, General Manager at Holiday Inn Express London – Limehouse, said:

The London Marathon attracts thousands of spectators, many of whom line the route for hours to support the runners.

Given that the hotel is on the route, we wanted to do something that the spectators would appreciate and that would benefit a deserving cause. The team rallied round, creating a party atmosphere as well as some fantastic burgers, which went down a treat with the nearby crowds. We were thrilled with the reaction, and with the amount of money we’re now able to donate to our charity partner, 4Louis.”

Holiday Inn Express London – Limehouse is operated by RBH, the UK’s leading independent hotel management company.
