A recruitment drive to fill 14 positions at the new Holiday Inn Express Middlesbrough - Centre Square, located within the former Cook and Endeavour House, is now under way.
Newly appointed General Manager Mark Winter will lead the hunt in a bid to enlist a team of enthusiastic individuals looking to build a successful career in hospitality.
Assisted by Middlesbrough Council, property developer Ashall Projects is undertaking a 12.4 million project to regenerate the Albert Road property, transforming it into a new 138-bedroom hotel, which is set to become a destination for sleeping, eating, drinking and socialising in the heart of the city.
The UK's largest independent hotel management company, RBH, which currently manages 70 properties across the UK, will operate the hotel and is responsible for hiring the brand new hotel team.
The hotel, bar and restaurant will create a mixture of positions ahead of the scheduled opening in August, including roles in the front of house, housekeeping, waiting and maintenance teams.
With applications now being accepted, the hotel will host a recruitment fair in partnership with Middlesbrough Council next month for those interested in joining the team.
The recruitment open day will take place on Thursday, 11 June in Middlesbrough Town Hall and looks set to attract a number of locals looking for new opportunities in the hospitality industry.
The event will give potential applicants a chance to find out more about the roles available and to meet the new general manager.
The 25-year-old rising star at the helm of the new hotel hopes to find a close-knit team of people that will help create a hub of true northern hospitality.
